What is the objective of the audition/proposal ranking system?

The main objective of the ranking system is to allow voice seekers to keep track of the auditions and proposals by sorting those submissions, which they like the most for any given project. It is more about ranking to see what place the audition comes in than a comment on the actual audition itself. Voice seekers sort through the auditions and proposals they have received by the ranking they have provided to quickly access the ones they gave a high ranking, including letting the talent-voice producer know if they were considered for hiring.
Being that audition proposals are being placed in order of what the voice seeker preferred, most of the time, the ranking a voice seeker provides is comprehensive and legitimate. We know there is a fear of random occasions of abuse, but the overall averages do provide a proper measurement as to how talent-voice producers & voice seekers use Voice123.
It takes into account the demos or auditions they are listening to and how it applies to the project description, the copy read, recording quality, as well the remarks provided by the voice talents or producers. Some talents and producers have asked why we don't allow the voice seeker to rank each audition or proposal in several areas or in different ways. The answer is because the main objective of the ranking system is for voice seekers to sort through auditions they have received, and voice seekers are not coaches. They are only providing what they think works for them.
There are times when one is not ranked, or a ranking is 'Wont Be Considered'. Do not worry about it. It happens. After months of viewing averages, we see the connection between those having the highest ranking averages are those with lots of experience. Also, your invite stats are not effected by not receiving rankings. If you find you are being ranked poorly all the time, contact us to discuss your situation or use DEMO ADVICE on Voice123 Premium Forums to get some opinions as to why it may have happened.

How can I see the audition/proposal rankings I have received?

You can observe the rankings you have received in your Audition Outbox. To access it, please make sure you are signed into Voice123. Please note that not all voice seekers rank the auditions that are submitted to them. As such, you may see that some auditions have been opened, yet they have not been ranked. You can also see how your audition/proposal rankings compare to the rankings of other talents or voice producers by checking out your audition/proposal ranking score in the My Private Stats page.

What is the "Audition/Proposal Ranking Score"?

The audition/proposal ranking score is a number that helps you compare the audition/proposal rankings you have received against, other talents and voice producers. It is between Likely Hiring and Wont Be Considered, with that choice being lowest. Your audition/proposal ranking score will be 400 if your auditions/proposals have always received the best ranking (when compared to other rankings) on each project you applied for where rankings were given by the voice seeker. You can check your audition/proposal ranking score on the My Private Stats page.

These are some interesting facts about the audition/proposal ranking score that you may want to know:

• The audition/proposal ranking score only takes into account audition/proposal rankings received during the past 365 days (one year).
• The audition/proposal ranking score is recalculated every seven days.
• The audition/proposal ranking score cannot be manually altered by Voice123 Team Members. It is always calculated automatically.
• Your audition/proposal ranking score is not visible to other talents, voice producers, or voice seekers.
• The audition/proposal ranking score contains statistical analysis techniques to take into account that some voice seekers may be too tough when ranking auditions or proposals.
• The ranking system may not assign an audition/proposal ranking score to talents and voice producers that have received few rankings during the past 365 days.
• At this point, there is no perfect score in the rankings system. Given that the ranking determines usage behavior, we need to know why people get a 'Wont Be Considered'.

What can I do with the information received from the ranking system?

You can evaluate your experience. After you have received several rankings, you can infer what audition and business techniques work best for you. You can also evaluate what types of projects you were best ranked on.

How does Voice123 SmartCast use the rankings?

Voice123 SmartCast uses many factors to determine which voice talents and producers are invited first to audition to each project. The rankings received by each voice talent and producer are one of many factors. Voice123 SmartCast gives preference to voice talents and producers that constantly get rankings above the average. If the voice seeker ranks your audition or proposal with the worst possible ranking (one star), SmartCast won't invite you again to projects posted by this voice seeker.

Can the ranking system be abused?

We have implemented several tools to detect abuse of the system. Rankings that don't seem to be legitimate will not be taken into consideration by SmartCast and the audition/proposal ranking score. We have also implemented statistical analysis techniques to take into account that some voice seekers may be too tough when ranking auditions or proposals.

What can I do if I got a negative ranking?

Don't worry! It is not the end of your career! It happens sometimes for a variety of reasons. You should ONLY begin to worry, if you constantly get rankings below average. Let us know if you have a concern, as well. Try to remember that the ranking applies to your placing in contention for the project. Therefore, ask yourself: Was the sound quality really your best? Maybe this is just a mistake? Should I even worry about this or just move on? Be the pro you know you can be, and see if you can figure out why this is happening. If you usually get rankings above average, one or two negative rankings will NOT hurt your ranking history. Above all....address all concerns with the ranking system with Voice123 & NOT the voice seeker. Each time one complains to a voice seeker, that seeker no longer uses the site, which costs talents work. We will continue to evaluate the system to make it work for you.

Can I get a negative ranking just because of the price I quoted?

We teach voice seekers that they should not provide negative rankings based solely in the price quoted by the voice talent or producer. Instead, we ask them to delete the audition or proposal, if the quote is too high. As the online industry grows, so are the budgets. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will receive a negative ranking just because the price you quoted is too high or too low in the opinion of the voice seeker.
