Given the wide variety of file formats and parameters that can be used to store audio, you may come across problems from time to time when uploading your demos to Voice123. This is a list of the most common problems, and a solution for them. If you continue having problems, you can contact us.

My demo won’t upload at all

• First of all, please keep in mind that it may take several minutes for a demo to upload. When you upload a file please only click one on the “Submit” buttons and wait until Voice123 gives you a new page.
• Please check that your demo file type is either MP3 or wav, and that it doesn’t exceed the size limit.
• Try deleting the cookies and temporary internet files on your computer, closing all other programs to free up the memory and bandwidth, and checking your Internet connection.

My demo sounds speeded up when I upload it

All demos uploaded to the site are re-encoded to 96Kbps. Sometimes the re-encoding process doesn’t work as expected and it ends up speeding up your audio. You can get around this issue by using different parameters when encoding your demo before you upload it to Voice123. Try using a different bit rate, frequency, etc.

My demo loses volume when uploaded

It is a commonly known problem that when two stereo channels have identical (mirror image) waveforms, as they would be when recorded from a single mic, the combining of the two stereo channels during conversion to make a single mono channel has the effect of almost canceling each other out, resulting in very low volume when a recoding is done. That is the case of the Voice123 uploading process. You can go around this problem by encoding your demo in mono format (not stereo) before you upload it.
