Our goal here at Voice123 is to help you succeed as a voice actor above all else. Therefore, we have some suggestions for you before you upgrade your membership.
To succeed as a Premium Member, you should:
Have your own home studio
Have some voice over experience and/or training
Complete your Voice123 profile
Upload at least 1 demo in each one of the categories you have listed in your profile that you can do.
Optimize Your Voice123 Profile:
You want to make sure your profile is filled out properly. We use the information you provide to match your profile to voice over jobs posted on Voice123. If your profile is incomplete or inaccurate, you won't receive invitations for the projects you want. Under “My Profile” page you can manage and update your voice details, upload your demos, add your headshot, view your Voice123 profile, and organize other information. Having this section complete and accurately filled out will ensure that your profile is matched to projects posted on the site.
Your "My Voice Details" section is the most important section of your profile. The information in this section will be shown on your Voice123 profile so that Buyers can find you and learn about you, and Voice123's SmartCast can determine projects for which your voice is appropriate. The more complete your profile, the better your results will be. You are encouraged to regularly update your profile with your latest resume information.
Voice Description: This is the first paragraph that will show up on the profile, under your name. Here you can write the best description of how your voice sounds like. You can edit this section by going to "My Profile" > "My Voice Details" > "Additional voice details".
The question ‘Apart from your voice, what else do you offer?’ is related to the Pre-, Post- and Production Services you Offer.
Your "My Settings" is the second most important section of your profile. We also take into account the job preferences you set here when matching your profile to projects.
Your “My Demos” section shows the list of demos you have in your Voice123 profile. The first demo of the list will be shown by default in the voice search results. You can change the order by clicking on ‘Reorder’ and dragging the demos to the position of your preference.
Clients can't hire you if they can't hear you! It's important that your demos are professionally recorded. Make sure potential clients are hearing you at your best.
It's important to upload a demo in each category of voice over work that you want to audition. For example, if you have "audiobooks" checked in your profile AND have a demo in the audiobook category, you will be invited to audition for audiobook projects before a matching talent that does not have a demo in that category.
Compilation reels are not the best way to go on Voice123. The reason for this is that when Clients use the search feature, they select the kind of project they are hiring for. For example, if a client selects "Training, business presentations, sales, and websites", they want to hear demos in that style. Clients only listen to an average of 9 seconds of a demo before they determine if they want to continue listening or move on to the next one. Make sure those first seconds are great!
You can add or update your headshot on the “My Headshot” section. We recommend putting some sort of image that represents you on your profile, it can be a professional headshot or your artistic logo. Having a picture on your profile is completely optional.
When filling the information, you will want to keep your answers short, but informative. Clients will not read an entire novel containing your life story. Think about the details you would want to know if you were looking to hire a voice actor. Voice123 clients tend to search for things like "conversational" or "deep", but sometimes, they use celebrity voices as an example of what they're looking for. If your voice sounds similar to Morgan Freeman or Scarlett Johansson, you'll want to list that in your "Headline". (“My Profile”>”My Profile Info”> “Headline”).
Leaving a section blank could cause you to miss out on projects.
