These are three main reasons why clients want their information protected:
-
Many prefer to handle the project fully through Voice123. Essentially, there's no need for the voice actor to contact the client directly in any other way.
-
Some projects contain confidential information regarding marketing strategies, development, etc. If the name of the client is published, their competition may be able to figure out what they are planning.
-
Some unscrupulous users may use that information to spam clients, offering unsolicited services. This has happened in the past and clients have complained.
To protect the client's contact information, Voice123 will never publish it on the 'Project Details' page. The company name may be shown in certain instances where the client allows this. To see the name of the company that posted a project (assuming they have opted to make it available), all the following criteria must be met:
-
You must be signed into your account.
-
The project must be open. If the project is closed the company name will not be displayed.
-
You must have been invited to submit an audition or proposal for the project.
It's only regarded as acceptable professional etiquette to contact a client (or their company) regarding any project if the client invited you directly, sent you a private message, or called you. Please do not try to contact them if they haven't reached out to you.
Often a listed company is not directly involved in the project, as these are often handled by advertising or marketing firms. Unsolicited contact might confuse or upset company representatives and possibly harm either Voice123's, or the client's, reputation.
A client's time and privacy should be respected. The consequences of disrespectful conduct brought to the attention of Voice123's Customer Success team may include the cancellation of a membership without refund, as well as a ban from participation in the Voice123 marketplace.
